UAE Mandatory E-Invoicing: Digital Compliance for Industrial Suppliers

The UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has announced the phased rollout of a mandatory e-invoicing system, beginning July 1 with companies generating over Dh50 million in annual revenue. For procurement professionals in the industrial sector, this means that major equipment suppliers and service providers will soon transition to fully digital tax compliance. It is essential to ensure that internal ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle, are ready to integrate with the new FTA standards.

Procurement departments must verify the digital readiness of their Tier-1 suppliers to avoid delays in payment processing and tax reclamation. This shift to e-invoicing is expected to enhance transparency and efficiency in the procurement of high-value industrial assets. Moving forward, digital compliance will become a standard criterion in the vendor pre-qualification and selection process for large-scale industrial projects.
